One Off Workshops
One off workshops are offered for a more in depth look at a particular subject or technique. For example, Paper Stencilling and Sgraffito or Throwing Jugs etc.

Children’s Class - £20 per child
I run a short workshop on a Saturday for children to come and experiment with clay and try their hand at something creative. The workshops are a 1hr and 30 mins at £20 and are split in age groups.
In these workshops I give the children a hand building project to try and after the workshop is finished, I fire and glaze their creations for you to pick up at a later date.
Saturday 9th November
9:00 -10.30 for primary age
11:00 -12.30 for top end primary & secondary age
Please email with your child’s age/ what time group they will be in to avoid confusion when booking.
Short Courses

Beginner Throwing - £312

Mondays 14:00 - 17:00
Four week short course starting 13th January, The following dates include the 20th, 27th of January and the 3rd of February.
This course will be for complete beginners with little or no experience with throwing on the wheel. Within this course we will cover: centering, throwing a cylinder, shaping (to create a mug, vase or bowl shape), turning (to finish the shape of the pot once leather hard), and creating handles. We will also have a look at the wide range of decorative processes you can use to elevate your future pots. And to finish you will be able to try your hand at glazing your bisque fired pieces.
Beginner/Intermediate Throwing - £312

Four week short course starting 3rd March, The following dates include the 10th, 17th and 24th of March
This course will be for people with some or no experience throwing on the wheel. Within this course we will cover: centering, throwing a cylinder, shaping (to create a mug, vase or bowl shape), turning (to finish the shape of the pot once leather hard), and creating handles. If there is something particular you are wanting to try your hand at please come with ideas and we can create a suitable plan.
We will also have a look at the wide range of decorative processes you can use to elevate your future pots. And to finish you will be able to try your hand at glazing your bisque fired pieces.

Intermediate Throwing – Slip and Sgraffito - £320

Three-week short course on Monday afternoons 14:00 - 17:00
Starting from Monday 4th November - Monday 18th November
This three-week short course is a perfect stepping stone for those who have already mastered the simple basics of throwing or those who have completed the beginner throwing 4-week course.
This course will give you the opportunity to push forward your pottery skills and take a look at how to use new pottery techniques to decorate your work.
You will spend the start of the course perfecting your throwing technique and creating items to use as your base for decoration.
The remainder of the course will be spent learning about the wonders of slip and sgraffito and how they can enhance your work. Learn how to use the paper stencilling technique, using coloured liquid clays to create crisp edged print-like designs on clay. Creating both delicate and bold designs. Also try your hand at experimenting with sgraffito (drawn and scratched onto the surface) and how you can use it alongside slips to create layers and interest within your work.
All materials and firing costs are included, your pots will be glazed and fired for collection once complete.
